Our Christmas sessions have been designed to get you in front of the camera for a few photos to celebrate the new year! For those who may be a new client please know these are just a tiny sneak peek into what we offer in a full Boudoir Experience. Whether you are an old hand at this or a new client looking for a sneak peek into what we do, please take the time to read over our guide carefully as it has been created to make sure you get the BEST image in the short time we have.

A lot of time and effort goes into creating these guides so please read thoroughly before sending questions through as half the time questions sent are covered.

Please do not bring any valuables with you to the studio or friends as we will not have room for extras. If you would like a friend to come along they will need to book their session either side of your own.

 

Boudoir By Kristy Lee is part of Kristy Lee Photography. We are a home based boutique studio.

Address: 4 Venice Retreat Warnbro.

Parking: Being a home based business please think about neighbours with parking. You are welcome to use the driveway or pull up in front of the house.

Overflow parking can be found at the end of Capella Pass overlooking the beach. However, we don’t expect it will be needed.

What To Expect On the Day

  1. Please have your hair and makeup done as desired for the session unless of course, you have selected this as an optional extra.

  2. Please ensure you are on time. If you are late this will take some of your shooting time. Any more than 15 minutes late your session will be forfeited. No refunds will be given.

  3. On arrival please come to the front door and ring the doorbell and knock. One of the team will let you in as soon as possible.

  4. Depending on what day you come in it may be Kristy alone or she may have an assistant in. If you are paying the remaining money in cash please have this ready to pay on arrival. Having the correct money would kindly be appreciated as it saves time for your session.

  5. When we are ready for you, Kristy or her assistant will go over your clothing options with you. If you have opted for a client’s closet she will go over this with you at that time. You will also be offered a Mimosa or refreshment.

  6. You will spend around 30-45 minutes shooting with Kristy.

  7. When finished you will get changed and then head to the office for your viewing. If Kristy thinks you have a large gallery she may offer for you to come back within 72 hours to view your images. Generally, they are done on the day though and you have 30-45 minutes. She will spend 10 minutes or so on the gallery loading etc for you prior to your viewing.

Payment Methods

Session Fee:

The remaining Session Fee is due to be paid in full 72 hours prior to your session by the following methods:

  • Bank Transfer

  • Card over the phone (credit card does carry a surcharge)

If you find your booking email or reminder email you will see a pay in full option.

OR

CASH ON THE DAY IS ACCEPTED HOWEVER

This will need to be paid before your session. If you opt for this please let us know via email so we can make note so your reminders stop.

IMPORTANT -

Please note, eftpos will not be available before your session when your remaining balance will be due & we do not have time to check for last-minute transfers.

Sessions will not go ahead if full payment has not been made and cleared at least 72 hours prior. So payments for session fee must only be in cash PRIOR to your session.

Payment Options For Orders On The Day

  • Cash

  • Card, credit cards do carry a small surcharge

  • Bank Transfer - only for past clients who have transferred into our account before

  • Interest-Free Payment plans through Payright Australia can be used for orders of $500 or more over 6 months only

    Our merchant name is Kristy Lee Photography, you can apply with them directly prior to your session.

  • Payment plans can be done in-house for orders however this is like a layby system and you will not receive your images until full payment is complete. Products will not be ordered until 80% of the order has been paid for. They can be done on a weekly/fortnightly or monthly payment basis for up to 3 months only.

Preparing for your Session

  1. Hair - It is best to have your hair down and curls/waves are always the most popular option for clients.

    However, as you can see in images not always needed like for a booty shot. The option is yours. For Naughty and Nice Clients if you have booked your hair with us at the studio, please be sure to wash and dry the day before so it is ready for styling on arrival and be on time.

  2. If you don’t want greys in photos, then please make sure your hair is freshly coloured.

  3. Makeup - Makeup can make a huge difference especially if it is done by a professional. For those just after a few shots like our Teaser session and you are wanting more of a booty shot then we may not see your face so it really will depend on what kind of image you are wanting out of your session. If you would like a face shot, then I highly recommend professional makeup. It can make a huge difference in your images and make you feel extra special. For limited edition sessions, having makeup done is highly recommended to give you more options.

  4. Tanning - Please see the editing of images below for more information on tanning.

  5. Waxing - Do whatever you would usually do for waxing, if you do not want it in photos then remove it. You will see underarms in some shots as an example.

  6. Drink plenty of water before your session. Being hydrated keeps dry skin at bay, and helps fine lines appear plumper and smoother.

  7. Please stay out of the sun in the weeks leading up to your session. Sunburn and or peeling can be a nightmare in post-production and will not be edited out.

  8. Nails - Treat yourself before your session to a mani/pedi. This is more so for our Naughty and Nice clients. Even if it’s just at home. Pampering yourself is the perfect way to relax and destress AND we don’t want dirty soles on your feet. This shows up in some poses. Also, avoid those dirty thongs. We recommend Sticking to natural or nude colours unless you are a bright colour girl, that is perfectly ok just make sure they don't clash with your choices as we do not edit nails.

  9. EAT a light meal before coming in; we don’t want you lightheaded from fasting. Avoid heavy salty foods as this can make you retain water (lady problems!).

  10. Wear loose clothing on the day to the studio to avoid leaving marks on your body.

  11. Allow plenty of time if you do not know where we are so you aren’t rushing on the day. If you arrive early and we can start early then we will :) I would prefer you here early relaxing than rushing to be here on time and feeling flustered and stressed.

    If booking and going to anyone for hair and makeup, you will need to allow plenty of time to get to us as you cannot be late.

What To Wear

The most important thing with all lingerie is that it fits correctly. Having the right fit and right item for you body shape can make a massive difference in both how you feel wearing it and how the end result will look. During our full Boudoir experience, we do a fitting during our Pre consult however as it isn’t part of this session type I recommend being fitted correctly at somewhere like Honey Birdette or Bras and Things. Make sure items don’t cut in or aren’t too big as these are two of the most common mistakes people make.

You will have the option to change up your look during the session.

IMPORTANT - Please leave any jewellery at home that you don’t plan on keeping during the shoot.

We don’t generally wear things like necklaces during sessions and as we may have other clients getting changed in the changing room please do not leave your valuables sitting around.

Posing Tips

Please don't feel overwhelmed reading these, remember you are guided 100% on the day, it's just nice to get used to any terms etc we may use so they aren't so foreign on the day and being short on time you can practise at home. ​

Butt out, arch your back (booty pop) Chin forward and down. This gives you a great jawline. Practise in the mirror so you can see what I am talking about.

Some will be Chin straight up to the ceiling. When Standing, legs together and drop one knee. This pops one hip up slightly.

Google Smize, is a great thing to learn for when you are asked to look into the camera.

Viewing Images & Ordering

After your portrait session you will get changed. As you are changing your images will be uploaded ready for viewing which will happen in the office.

Having an idea going into the viewing of what you think you might like to order will make it much easier for you.

Professional Matted prints - the overall size of these prints are done so you can easily find a frame for them. Think about where you might like to have them as this may help you decide on what kind of and size image you select. Generally the sizes we sell for Teaser sessions work best in sets on the wall or framed on a bedside as an example.

Additional Matted Prints are available for ordering on the day.

Diamond Tiles - The mini ones are 4x4 inches (can be seen in studio). As they are square, images that work best are close-up booty shots etc that can easily be cropped into a square. Things like legs look much better in a larger crop so a matted print would be a better option.

If you have an idea going in that you may like to look at a calendar as an example, know that you would be looking for 12 images to fill it. The wall Calendars are a great size and clients have kept them and framed them after they have been used.

Little Black Books, you would select the number of images needed & your book would be designed by your selected images.

Editing of Images

At the time of your viewing for Teaser sessions your images are viewed untouched.

What can you expect to be done to your image?

We use Photoshop to perform retouches such as exposure, correcting colour and tones, cropping, skin smoothing and blemish removal. Some images may need cropping etc to suit your print. So what you see on the day may be slightly different depending on what you order.

We never or very rarely use photoshop to perform any kind of body transformation so what you see on the day straight off camera will be very similar to the final product.

We do pose you in a way that embraces your features and use the correct lighting (which gives a warm tone) and settings needed for the most flattering images.

Tanning - This is always a tough one. Generally it is advised not to tan as skin tone is warmer with lighting and editing. However if used correctly for just evening skin tone and tan marks etc to your natural skin tone it can work well. But there are a few important things to consider before deciding.

If you are not a regular tanner than please do not tan as too much can go wrong and like was said above you will look warmer in photos anyway.

Regular Tanners - Please note, you need to tan days before the session so your tan does not come off on our furniture (like our new ivory chaise). You will be liable for any damage done.

And we DO NOT fix up bad tanning in editing, such as orange uneven skin, patches underarms and on knees and knuckles.

Things we do not edit - We do not remove things like but not limited to sunburn, nail polish colours, hair, bad tanning etc Basically thing that could of been avoided.

Please note, You will not see your final edited image before it goes to print.

We may ask you questions regarding the edit & your preferences depending on the lighting etc. But generally most will have a dark moody look. Here is one example.
