A word from Kristy your Photographer

Hello ladies, I am Kristy the woman behind the camera and the Boudoir By Kristy Lee team and boudoir experience.

You may of noticed I freakin LOVE helping women see their beauty, boosting their confidence, empowering them. Which is kind of ironic considering this is the ONE thing I have always struggled with myself. Literally a 25-30 year long battle. But maybe that is why I love it so much, when I say I get it and I understand your insecurities I really do mean it. I mean I have the loose & excess skin, the saggy boobs and cellulite. I really feel like this gives me a really raw perspective when I work with ladies with self esteem and self love and acceptance issues which sadly is a high % of ladies (thanks society!!!).

As a plus-size lady who has had many massive weight fluctuations, carried birthed and fed 4 babies, my body is far from what society would consider perfect. But this is me and whilst I have been helping others, I have been doing a series of selfies to try and find an acceptance of myself now being the heaviest I ever have been.

The more I see myself in photos, the more I feel I create an acceptance of myself and that to me is a big thing. Taking photos that show off my womanly features. Accepting that it’s ok to not look a certain way or to not look how I used to, acceptance that as we age our body changes. And that is ok, that is normal. Letting go of what I cannot change and acknowledging the fact that I or any other person out there doesn’t have to be a certain size, shape or age to be beautiful and confident.

Confidence itself is sexy and every day I work on that and each time I get in front of the camera I grow a little more.

My point is - don’t wait until you think you have the ‘perfect’ body to get a shoot, you may be a work in progress but just remember that we all are! And just a heads up the so-called perfect body is like a unicorn, a myth!

Work on accepting you for being uniquely you.

I understand that for most ladies it's a big deal to be so vulnerable in front of a camera so this to me was my number one priority - making a safe space for you so we can create some beautiful images for you to love and cherish for years to come.
