How Do I Book? What to Expect

Ready to book and want to know what happens from here? Booking a Boudoir Experience with us consists of a few simple steps. Let’s go over them so you know what to expect. And then we will touch base with just a little rundown on each step of the way after booking.

How To Book

  1. Contact us. We reply and schedule a time for a quick call.

Why do we do a call? No we do not put the hard sell on you so do not stress about that. We just like to go over the process so you know how we work and so you know what to expect booking with us. This also gives you a chance to ask any questions so that you can make sure that we are the right team for you before going ahead and booking including going over pricing and payment options. After our call you will be sent some additional information on the studio and more in depth pricing.

  2. Pay your non refundable booking fee. Once you decide you are happy to go ahead and want to lock in your date. This is $300 (approximately 50% of your session fee). See here for details on our session fee and what is included. This can be done whilst on the phone during your call or after your booking call.

We do not make bookings and send pricing guides until AFTER we have spoken to you. Being such a personal thing we do, it is important to me as a photographer to make sure that you feel comfortable and I also feel comfortable with you as my client and that I can be sure I can give you what you are wanting or needing from your experience.

  3. Prepayment Plans - For those who book 8 weeks or longer in advance you will be required to set up a prepayment plan with us within one week of booking. This ensures that you are committed to your session date. You will receive an email within a few days to do this. It is a simple process and doesn’t take long at all. You can pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly if you wish. All of which is discussed with you to suit your budget.

All booked and ready to go! What to Expect now.

Session Prep will begin, you will be guided all the way by the team with email being our main type of communication.

You will be given access to our Clients Area on the website where you will find lots of helpful information for you to help plan your day. Everything from whether you should get a spray tan to what styles we have. You will receive timed emails to schedule your planning session (pre consultation) where we carefully plan your session with you for you (see here to learn more about this). A questionnaire will come out right before your planning session. This is something that we use to create a personalised experience just for you. Even things like what music you prefer to listen to on the day. By the time you leave your pre consultation you will know what to expect, have a checklist for the day so all you need to do is turn up and relax and enjoy the experience.

Session Day

On the day of your session your will arrive clean faced, dry hair ready to go with sessions usually starting at 9am. We start with a quick snap of a before photo and then straight into hair and makeup and of course mimosas or other refreshments if you prefer. We only ever have one lady in the studio for a full boudoir experience per day so there is no need to worry about being disturbed. Only Kristy and her assistant will be there during the actual photoshoot part itself. The studio is private so the public does not have access and we do not have walk ins.

We do not have a time frames as such on sessions but generally we say to allow ‘school hours’ so expect 9-3pm. But we could be finished much earlier. Because each session is personalised with some ladies having more add on’s than others and some ladies taking a while to ‘relax’. This is why we never put a timeframe on a session as such. It’s not about pushing you out the door, it’s about you enjoying your day and the whole experience. Usually as a rule of thumb a standard Boudoir Experience with two different looks and no add on’s you can expect one and a half hours of shooting. And each add on experience will add half an hour or so.

Viewing

Your viewing of your images will take place usually within a week of your experience depending on when you come in. At this point your images will be approximately 95% edited with all final edits done on anything that goes to print. These edits are usually things like editing myself out of the reflection in the mirror or take away small bruises etc. Some images are already complete at this stage. If you are purchasing an album we will design your album together with your favourite images. See here to learn more about what products we have available.

Products Order and Arrival

Your final edits will be done within a week of your viewing and your products will be ordered with our amazing suppliers across Australia. Each specialising in their field to create the most beautiful hand crafted items. Being hand crafted means this can take time so we recommend at least a six to eight week window between your session date and arrival. But if you are wanting your items for a special occasion like a wedding then allow more time just in case. Everyone knows that COVID has done some funny things with supplies and deliveries this past 18 months so the more time you allow the better. As soon as your products arrive we check them over and you are notified to make an appointment to come to the office for collection.

I hope this gave you a good rundown on what to expect and how to book your very own Boudoir Experience. As you can see there is a lot that goes on before even picking up a camera with each and every single experience for every client. We cannot wait to see you in the studio one day soon!

Kristy xx
